Uraraka’s disposition seems to fit into the Pokémon trainer mold and it’s easy to imagine her as a gregarious Gym Leader that shows up early on in an adventure.

Kinoko Kimori is a brazen Class 1-B student from U.A. High who doesn’t truly stand out until the Joint Training Arc that puts Classes 1-A and 1-B in direct competition with each other. Everything about Kimori’s design proudly pushes her Mushroom Quirk, which is quite dangerous despite the character’s chipper demeanor.

Kimori’s Quirk has so much in common with the ideals of Poison-Type Pokémon, and there are even plenty of Pokémon that specifically pull inspiration from mushrooms. Kimori could limit herself entirely to Poison-Type Pokémon and still dominate with them.

Izuku “Deku” Midoriya is the centerpiece of My Hero Academia and destined to become society’s Number One Pro Hero. Midoriya embodies many of the plucky shonen protagonist ideals as he exudes optimism and selfless bravery at every step.

Shoto Todoroki may not be the official protagonist of My Hero Academia, but the character has arguably experienced an arc that’s even more challenging than what Midoriya has gone through. Shoto has a tremendous amount of personal baggage that eats away at him.

But his tragic history is also responsible for his enviable Quirk, Half-Cold Half-Hot, which ostensibly gives him two diverse abilities in one. Shoto has come a long way regarding discipline and maturity, which are necessities for a Pokémon trainer. Shoto could also cultivate a powerful team that’s made up of Fire and Ice-Type Pokémon.
