Many Saints Of Newark Actors Praise Sopranos Cast In New Video
A new behind-the-scenes video for the prequel The Many Saints of Newark features the actors praising the original cast of The Sopranos.
The cast of The Many Saints of Newark praises the actors who starred in The Sopranos in a new video. The upcoming prequel film is set in the 1960s and ’70s, focusing on the real-life 1967 riots that took place in Newark. The movie will offer audiences a chance to revisit many of their favorite characters from The Sopranos for the first time since the series ended in 2007. Young Tony Soprano will aptly be played by Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late James Gandolfini, who originated the role. Other returning characters include Giovanni “Johnny Boy” Soprano (Jon Bernthal), Livia Soprano (Vera Farmiga), and Silvio Dante (John Magaro).
The Many Saints of Newark also features a familiar creative team. It was scripted by David Chase, who created The Sopranos, along with Lawrence Konner, who wrote on the series. Alan Taylor directs the film after having helmed several episodes of the show throughout its run. The Many Saints of Newark releases in theaters on October 1 and will also be available for the first month on HBO Max. Critics who have already seen the film seem to approve so far, as it’s received largely positive reviews.
