From modern western classics to legal dramas, the cast of Yellowstone has been in it all. Here are their most recognizable roles outside the show.

The cast of Yellowstone carries a series of eclectic actors from western veterans to country singers who have led the show to its success as the most popular program on cable television. However, despite the show’s commercial success, it has only recently been more warmly received by critics.

While fans wait for season five to return later this year, there are plenty of entertaining projects from the show’s actors for audiences to discover. Here is some of the most notable work from the cast of Yellowstone.

Kevin Costner – Dances With Wolves

Set in 1863, Dances With Wolves tells the story of First Lieutenant John J. Dunbar (Kevin Costner), a hero of the American Civil War who receives a remote outpost on the western frontier. During his time in the position, he slowly befriends and defends the local Sioux Native Americans, much to the army’s dismay.

The film was an unprecedented commercial and critical success, earning 12 Academy Award nominations and becoming the highest-grossing western of all time. Among its 7 Oscar wins, Costner won both Best Director and as a producer for Best Picture and received a nomination for his performance as well.

Luke Grimes – American Sniper

American Sniper takes place during the Iraq War and follows the life of Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper), a lauded Navy SEAL who was amongst the deadliest in U.S. history. While the film highlights Kyle’s military successes, it also focuses on the toll of war on his family as well as its lasting effects on his mental health.

Luke Grimes plays Marc Lee, another SEAL in Kyle’s unit who is with him when they come under heavy fire overseas. American Sniper was nominated for 7 Academy Awards, including Best Actor for Bradley Cooper in one of his best movies, and was the 6th highest-grossing film of 2015.

Kelly Reilly – Pride & Prejudice

Adapted from the Jane Austin novel of the same name, Pride & Prejudice depicts five sisters from a family of landed gentry who deal with the issues of morality, marriage, and the misconceptions of others. Of the sisters, the film’s primary focus is on Elizabeth Bennet (Keira Knightley) and her relationship with Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen).

Amongst the expansive cast, Kelly Reilly plays Caroline Bingley, the sister of Charles Bingley (Simon Woods) who is courting the eldest sister Jane Bennet (Rosamund Pike). Pride & Prejudice was nominated for 4 Academy Awards and is considered one of Keira Knightley’s best films.

Wes Bentley – American Beauty

American Beauty is a black dramedy that revolves around Lester Burnham (Kevin Spacey), an advertising executive going through a mid-life crisis who becomes infatuated with his teenage daughter’s best friend Angela (Mena Suvari) after he sees her cheerleading at a high school basketball game.

Wes Bentley plays Ricky Fitts, the pot-smoking, camcorder-holding son of a U.S. Marine colonel who moves in next door to the Burnhams. American Beauty won 5 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director for Sam Mendes’ directorial debut.

Cole Hauser – Good Will Hunting

Written by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, Good Will Hunting stars Damon in one of his best roles as 20-year-old janitor Will Hunting, an undiscovered genius who studies advanced mathematics and attends court-mandated therapy due to his assault of a police officer.

Cole Hauser’s character, the quiet and intimidating Billy McBride, is part of Hunting’s friend group that supports him throughout the film. Good Will Hunting was nominated for 9 Academy Awards, with Damon and Affleck winning Best Original Screenplay and Robin Williams winning Best Supporting Actor.

Kelsey Asbille – Wind River

Wind River tracks the story of a wildlife officer and FBI agent who team up to investigate the murder of a young indigenous woman on a Wyoming Native American reservation. As the two get closer to finding the truth, the officer must come to terms with his own haunted past.

Kelsey Asbille plays the victim, Natalie Hanson, whose death serves as the catalyst for the events of the film. The film stars Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, with supporting performances from Graham Greene, Julia Jones, and Taylor Sheridan regulars Gil Birmingham and Ian Bohen.

Jefferson White – How To Get Away With Murder

Before his breakout role as Jimmy in Yellowstone, Jefferson White had a handful of small stints on other well-known television shows, the most popular of which was How To Get Away With Murder. The series follows a law professor, played by Viola Davis, and five of her students who get entangled in a murder plot.

Jefferson White appears in season two of the show as Philp Jessup, a suspect in the murder case the unconventional team is investigating. How To Get Away With Murder ran for six seasons and resulted in an Emmy win for Viola Davis along with three additional nominations.

Gil Birmingham – Hell Or High Water

Against the backdrop of West Texas, Hell Or High Water lays out the story of two brothers who decide to rob the banks that are preparing to foreclose on their family ranch. However, their activities are not unnoticed, and two Rangers are soon hot on their tail.

Gil Birmingham plays one of the Rangers opposite Jeff Bridges, in one of his best movies. The film was nominated for 4 Academy Awards, including nominations for Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Bridges, with additional performances from Chris Pine, Ben Foster, Marin Ireland, and Katy Mixon.

Ian Bohen – Teen Wolf

In the fictional town of Beacon Hills, Teen Wolf settles on Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), who is transformed into the titular role after being bitten the night before he begins his sophomore year of high school.

For 5 seasons, Ian Bohen played Peter Hale, one of the main antagonists and the alpha wolf whose bite was responsible for transforming Scott into a werewolf in the first place. The rest of the cast includes Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, and Seth Gilliam amongst others.

Ryan Bingham – Crazy Heart

Based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Cobb, Crazy Heart follows a poor-off country musician Otis Blake (Jeff Bridges) who starts trying to turn his life around after beginning a relationship with a young journalist, all while struggling to overcome years of alcoholism.

Ryan Bingham, primarily a country musician in his own right, plays Tony in the film, the leader of a backup group for Blake. In addition to acting, Bingham co-wrote a pivotal song in the movie alongside T Bone Burnett titled “The Weary Kind”, which would go on to win him an Oscar for Best Original Song.
