Better Call Saul Season 6 Photo Shows The Return of Three Big Villains

A new image from Better Call Saul season 6 reveals the return of the three main villains Don Eladio, Juan Bolsa, and Lalo Salamanca.

A photo on the sixth season of Better Call Saul spotlights the return of three massive villains. Better Call Saul was created by Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan, and centers on the background of former con-man and earnest lawyer Jimmy McGill’s transformation into the sleazy ‘criminal’ attorney, Saul Goodman. Better Call Saul takes place six years before the events of its predecessor, offering flashforwards that open each season showing the status of Jimmy McGill after the years on Breaking Bad. The show is now in production of its final season that will be thirteen episodes.

Better Call Saul has been known for being more subdued in its storytelling, focusing more intently on its development of characters. As the seasons of the prequel went on and the show gets deeper into the universe of Breaking Bad, the timelines of both series start to inch closer to each other, featuring many antagonists that have appeared in the predecessor, such as Don Eladio and Juan Bolsa. Better Call Saul has also introduced Lalo Salamanca back in the fourth season, who is briefly mentioned in Breaking Bad. With the appearance of these characters, the series has steadily shown more action sequences and brutal violence.

Now in a social media post made by Better Call Saul‘s official Twitter account, all three members of the Juárez Cartel can be seen in an image from the final season. The full post can be seen below:

The last season ended with Lalo on the hunt for revenge after escaping an assassination brought on by Gus and knowing his associate Nacho Varga betrayed him. As of now, Better Call Saul takes place in 2004, four years before the pilot of Breaking Bad, which leaves a bit more room before it catches up to the timeline of its predecessor. With the show’s final season on the horizon, there are still a lot of unanswered questions Better Call Saul must answer. Bob Odenkirk, who plays Jimmy McGill, has already teased that the ending of Better Call Saul will be extreme, and that will likely involve these three villains.

Don Eladio is the cartel leader, while Juan Bolsa and Lalo Salamanca are high-ranking members who have done heinous acts over the course of both series. All three characters have been vital to Better Call Saul, providing the backstory of their appearances in Breaking Bad and associating themselves with Gus Fring and Jimmy McGill. There is no doubt that all three of these villains will be crucial in the show’s final season and shape the course of the series as it gets nearer to the events of Breaking Bad.
